A Poem to Release Stress and Anxiety

Stress, anxiety, gripping…

It’s all too much.

The holding on …

To what we know

To what wethinkwe know

To what we must do

To what we mustbe

To the way things aresupposed to be

To the way we feel “safe.”

We want things to be a certain way

And they aren’t.

We are tossed.

We are thrown.

How do we ground?

How do we weather the storm?

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

When we took our first breath outside of our mother’s womb, we screamed …

Some of us are still screaming.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

It's time for a new way.

It's time to no longer accept this constant, exhausting cycle …

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

The river of life flows.

You are the space between.

You are enough.

You aren't a mistake.

Your "cracks" make you who youneedto be.

You have weathered storms and you will again.

Inside, you have strength.

You've glimpsed it, but have not held on to it.

You doubt it’s real.

But …

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Can you feel it?

The chaos that surrounds you is just noise.

It is not you.

You can get quiet.

Deep inside is quiet.

There is the strength.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

You are the space between.

You are the witness.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

You have the Power to Choose your next move, your next words.

Feel that Inner Knowing …

That strength that lies inside.

It’s always been there and has never left you; the outside noise just got in and drown it out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

You can breathe!

What a gift!

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

The river of life flows.

So much love,
