How to Show Love … Taught By One Little Girl in One Moment

How to Show Love … Taught By One Little Girl in One Moment

September 06, 20212 min read

There are moments that occur in your life that will change you forever; seemingly mundane moments that are packed with meaning.

Sometimes these moments will shake you to your core and cause you to decide how it is that you will move forward. Some moments can be pattern interrupts that change the course of your day- this goes for good and for bad.

Yesterday, a little girl gave me a sticker. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, right?

Wrong.

I was having a particularly tough day. My mind was in all the negative places and I didn’t sleep the night before. I was having a hard time using all the tools that I TEACH to shift me out of this space.

It wasn’t just an ordinary sticker. It was her FAVORITE sticker. And she freely gave it to me. She didn’t know I was having a sad day- and she gave it anyway.

I tell you this story because I am wondering how many of you have given away your favorite sticker for no reason at all.

How many of you make eye contact with a grocery clerk? How many of you can shift out of your own mental noise to smile at a person walking by? How many of you called a friend you haven’t heard from in a while and asked how they are doing – and REALLY mean it?

I am certainly guilty of being stuck in my own mental noise and forgetting that there is a suffering world out there who needs me.

Who will you be today?

How will you choose to show up in this world today?

Every interaction between people, between each other, matters. You never know the impact your life can have- in those small moments.

Be love. Let your love be the pattern interrupt that someone needs to shift out of their own negative head space. One smile can be all that it takes.

Give away your favorite sticker.

Love,

Rachel

P.S. When you are having a hard time, help someone else. It can shift you right out of that moment and into a totally different vibration.

P.P.S. I love your replies. I really love to hear from you! It makes my day!
